Waleed Mazen

Waleed Mazen is a super hands-on entrepreneur with +20 years’ experience helping his clients transform, deliver efficiently and effectively – saving them millions of dollars in the process.

Waleed is a certified Lean Kaizen Master Practitioner from the British Quality Foundation; and Six Sigma Black Belt.  He is formally trained up in BSc Systems (Industrial) Engineering and an Executive MBA from Imperial College London, UK.  He dedicated his master’s thesis on “Creating Workplace Excellence – Evaluating Japanese Kaizen Culture”.  He has also been on several Kaizen Study missions to Japan – touring Tokyo / Narita, Kyoto, Osaka & Nagoya – learning lean practical implementation and process optimization from the Japanese masters themselves! Kaizen giants like Toyota, Toto, Omron, Nissan and others.

Waleed has been a long-term champion of kaizen in our region and has regional experience across Europe, Middle East & North Africa.  He has worked across sectors which gives him multi-industry insight (including production, warehousing, supply chain, safety, etc.) Sectors served include white goods manufacturing, metalworks, food & beverage, glass, plastics and warehousing, as well as various service and educational organisations.

Waleed is a British Arab, fluent in both languages and cultures. He constantly seeks to empower Arab enterprises – to the point of translating Shigeo Shingo’s books “Kaizen and the Art of Creative Thinking” and “Fundamentals of Lean Manufacturing into Arabic. He published the first lean manufacturing tools book in Arabic in 2022 called ‘Lean Manufacturing: Practical Guide to Tools and Implementation.

Waleed is a thought leader in our region specifically in the area of continuous improvement & kaizen.  He has & continues to speak at key industry forums e.g., Lean Summit Africa, Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (Quality Week), Virtual Lean Summit 2020, 2021,2022.
